Plain-language understanding

What is real
A configured OpenAI model can map what the person typed to a route key from a closed list. Without credentials, or when that call fails, the tested deterministic synonym matcher handles the same routes. The reading is shown back and remains correctable.
What is mocked or limited
The model path needs a server-side API key; the local deterministic path is the prototype default. Eligibility never depends on either classifier.

The case is stored on your device and survives reload without an account.

The case number and the stage dates are illustrative. The design point is that the mission owns the status rather than a third-party site.

Identity choices, payment, OTP

What is real
The manual contact form validates real browser fields and keeps an unfinished draft in session storage. DigiLocker and Aadhaar controls disclose their demo status on hover, focus and tap.
What is mocked or limited
DigiLocker and Aadhaar are simulations. No Aadhaar, PAN, passport number, OTP, credential or payment is requested, stored or sent to any government system.

Emergency triage and protocols

What is real
Navigation, the private three-step triage, six server-rendered protocols, can/cannot lists, mission contact resolution and tel: hand-off all run. Privacy routes use replace navigation and store no answers.
What is mocked or limited
The form itself does not contact emergency services or the mission. The published duty-officer number is the real hand-off to a person.

Abidjan publishes no duty officer, so the resolver returns the MEA central line and the page says that it did. Governance rule 5, demonstrated rather than described.

Core requirements, protocols and emergency contacts render server-side. A service worker caches the app shell and all six emergency protocols separately, and service pages use stale-while-revalidate caching.

Background sync, push notifications and crisis check-in are not built. A newly created case lives only in this browser's local storage.

Low-bandwidth imagery

What is real
Post text and actions render before optional media. Save-Data and 2G connections withhold media until requested; images are lazy, videos never autoplay, and the supplied Ambassador portrait is used only for Copenhagen.
What is mocked or limited
Feed illustrations and the video poster are lightweight prototype SVG artwork. The national programme directory uses names and links rather than downloading 23 external logos.

Performance budget

What is real
Measured production build: CSS is 9.6 KB gzipped. Seven tested routes return 57–87 KB of HTML, and the shared first-load JavaScript is 103 KB.
What is mocked or limited
The build is not yet within the 40 KB HTML or 90 KB shared-JavaScript gates. Lighthouse, axe and rendered visual checks remain unverified because no browser connection was available in this workspace.

Retrieving an application

What is real
The retrieval interaction: two ways in, shape validation, the pending state, multiple results, the masked email, and the device-local list of applications you actually booked here.
What is mocked or limited
There is no citizen database. Any correctly-formed reference or email returns a synthetic application, derived deterministically from what you typed so it is stable across reloads. A real version would authenticate you and query the mission's record — which no Indian mission publishes today.

Shared service journey

What is real
Every internal service-directory route now opens a three-step details, appointment and confirmation journey. The service title, mission, contact name, appointment, reference and four-item checklist carry through to a device-local case with PDF, email and calendar actions.
What is mocked or limited
The default checklist is provisional, identity connections and slots are simulated, and the confirmation is stored only on this device. No application or appointment reaches a government system.

What is real
A designed recovery page that names the unavailable path, offers service search, and routes to four working destinations with consistently aligned rows.
